Career Orientation for High School Students through School Visits at Duy Tan University

Posted On: 06/02/2024

Continuing its mission to make education more open and accessible, Duy Tan University (DTU) regularly provides opportunities for high school students to visit and experience its campus, laboratories, and modern learning spaces through the “Career Orientation – Choosing Majors” program. This activity demonstrates DTU’s strong commitment to public engagement by allowing the community — especially 12th-grade students — to explore its educational and research facilities firsthand.

Opening University Spaces to the Public

The program, organized annually in collaboration with high schools, attracts thousands of 12th-grade students eager to learn about university life and career opportunities. Participants have the chance to tour DTU’s facilities, meet faculty members, and receive personalized guidance on choosing their future majors. These visits not only help students understand university study programs but also encourage them to identify their interests and make informed career decisions.

Experiencing Modern Learning Environments

During their visits, students are introduced to DTU’s advanced laboratories and creative spaces, including:

  • The Mechanical Workshop and STEM Lab, equipped with CNC machines, laser cutters, and 3D printing systems.

  • The Parasitology and Plant Tissue Culture Laboratories, where they observe scientific samples and learn about biological research.

  • The Clinical Simulation Center (MedSIM) and Dental Practicum Rooms, offering hands-on experiences in health sciences.

  • The Silver Swallow Studio (SSS), a professional film production studio that showcases DTU’s excellence in digital arts and media technology.

These open-campus activities provide students with a rare opportunity to explore real academic environments, experience advanced technologies, and better understand the learning atmosphere at DTU.

Connecting Education with the Community

By opening its campus and learning spaces to the public, DTU continues to strengthen connections between secondary schools and higher education. The “Career Orientation – Choosing Majors” program helps nurture students’ curiosity, inspire their ambitions, and foster a culture of learning and discovery — reflecting DTU’s dedication to providing accessible education and contributing to community development.
